Default Whether You Are Shy - 5 Tips How to Impress a Girlfriend in Middle School Or College

You are in good company here with lots of other high school seniors both male and female who are moving on to college and unsure about continuing relationships. On the one hand, it is very difficult to maintain a dating relationship when you are separated from your partner (at college) because of the lack of contact and because you will be having so many new experiences and meeting new people. Often relationships like yours where the 2 members of the couple plan to stay together and have the best of intentions fall apart and leave at least one member of the couple in a puddle on the ground. My intent is not to dissuade you from continuing the relationship but just to make you aware of the realities of a long distance relationship. Maybe you can continue the relationship throughout one semester of college and then reevaluate.

On the one hand, it is very difficult to maintain a dating relationship when you are separated from your partner (at college) because of the lack of contact and because you will be having so many new experiences and meeting new people. You can talk about staying together and about trust and commitment but I must tell you that this is very difficult and can present all kinds of problems such as confusion, jealousy and interference with having the full college experience. Often relationships like yours where the 2 members of the couple plan to stay together and have the best of intentions fall apart and leave at least one member of the couple in a puddle on the ground.

You are in good company here with lots of other high school seniors both male and female who are moving on to college and unsure about continuing relationships. It is clearly one of life's gifts if it comes in the package of a good relationship which it sounds like you and your girlfriend have.

Dear Dr. G.,
When, it is the age old question of staying together with your significant other
you graduate from high school. The only problem is that I am head over heels
in love with this girl( mutual) and just the thought of leaving her really
sucks. We've been dating for 7 plus months and I can't get enough of this
girl. She is a junior in high school and I am a senior. I don't want to miss out on
If it means staying with, college experiences but I also would give them up
her to the end.

We have a very strong relationship and it isn't founded in
physical attraction, rather trust and love. We went through some hard spots
around 6 months ago but we persevered and stayed together. I couldn't let go of
her then and I don't think i will be able to in the future. I am just afraid
Because of my girlfriend, that I will meet someone else in college and that I won't be able to start a.
relationship with her. I am also worried about her.
meeting someone while I'm gone. Like I said, I trust her. She is my best.
friend and the love of my life, yet I don't know what to do.
This is a really complicated situation for me please help!

I wish you both the best of luck. Please write back to me and let me know what you decide.
Maybe you can continue the relationship throughout one semester of college and then reevaluate. Or you can decide to continue to be friends if you decide to end the relationship.

My intent is not to dissuade you from continuing the relationship but just to make you aware of the realities of a long distance relationship. You already sound a bit confused and ambivalent about maintaining the relationship. I would also like to know whether or not your girlfriend wants to continue the relationship and about her concerns and feelings.
